تعليق سفير كوريا الجنوبية بعد زيارته لمدينة الزنتان

Last Thursday, I went on a trip to visit Zintan, a town of which I have heard much and was quite eager to see for myself.

 I was touched by the warm reception I received from the local population and the town’s administration, and was deeply moved and saddened by the trials and tribulations that the people of Zintan had to endure during the conflict.

 Loved ones lost, the wounded suffering from lack of proper care, children traumatized and scarred by what they witnessed and homes destroyed; to say nothing of the ever present danger of unexploded mines.  What struck me as most alarming and urgent was the situation of the wounded.

In many ways, it is reminiscent of what we in Korea faced during the Korean War.

After I met with the chairmen of the local and military councils, Zintan NTC representatives, I came to the realization that next medical team from Korea should have Zintan as its destination, in order to help alleviate the suffering of the injured and their families.

I also promised to do my utmost to expedite the resumption of construction of the three thousand housing units project by a Korean company there, to help the fast recovery of housing and utilities.

I hope this will be another step in the process for us to help the people of Libya rebuild their country, for which we have high hopes in the future.

يوم الخميس الماضي، ذهبت في رحلة لزيارة الزنتان، وهي بلدة سمعت  عنها الكثيرو بالتالي  كنت متحمسا جدا لرؤيتها.

  وقد لقيت إستقبالا حاراً من السكان المحليين وإدارة المدينة، و تأثرت و أصابني الحزن العميق من التجارب والمحن التي تعرض لها سكان الزنتان أثناء النزاع.

فقد  فقدوا الأحباء، و الجرحى يعانوا من عدم وجود الرعاية المناسبة، و يوجد الكثير من الأطفال المصابين بصدمات نفسية بسبب ما شاهدوه، ودمرت المنازل و الممتلكات، مع وجود خطر الألغام غير منفجرة. أكثر شئ أثار قلقي هو وضع المصابين.

في نواح كثيرة، الوضع يشابه كثيرا ما عانيناه في كوريا أثناء و بعد  الحرب الكورية.

بعد التقيت مع رؤساء المجالس المحلية والعسكرية ،و ممثلي مدينة الزنتان في المجلس الإنتقالي، أدركت أن الفريق الطبي الكوري القادم ينبغي أن يأتي للزنتان للمساعدة في تخفيف معاناة المصابين وعائلاتهم.

كما وعدت ببذل قصارى جهدي لتعجيل استئناف مشروع بناء ثلاثة آلاف وحدة سكنية من قبل شركة كورية هناك ، للمساعدة في انعاش سريع للإسكان والمرافق.

آمل أن تكون هذه خطوة أخرى في العملية التعاون مع شعب ليبيا في إعادة بناء بلدهم، والتي لدينا آمال كبيرة لها في المستقبل.
